The product sales sr supervisor provides leadership and supervisory responsibility for a medium-sized operational/administrative team(s) of clerical/support employees. They possess a good understanding of procedures and concepts within their own technical/subject area, along with basic knowledge of other areas to understand how they relate to their own. This role requires a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others to accomplish the objectives of the subfunction or job family. The supervisor works to improve process efficiencies in support of unit objectives and has a basic conceptual/practical grounding in relevant policies. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are essential for exchanging potentially complex or sensitive information. The role typically involves dealing with variable issues that may have broader business impacts, influencing decisions through advice, counsel, and facilitating services, or through joint accountability for volume, quality, and timeliness of results. The supervisor has full supervisory responsibilities, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and directing daily tasks and responsibilities. They do not have direct responsibility for financial or resource planning. Their work generally affects their own team as well as other related work teams.
responsibilities:
* support the sales team in selling products to the existing customer base through portfolio analysis, needs assessment, and customer risk profiling.
* disseminate information on industry trends, financial markets, and competitive products, analyzing this information for meaningful sales engagement.
* develop and oversee the training roadmap for relationship managers, ensuring successful completion of training certifications related to regulatory requirements, knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits.
* ensure customer engagement by organizing meetings and discussing product offerings to build awareness.
* conduct joint sales drills with relationship managers to facilitate appropriate product purchases by customers.
* enhance the knowledge level of branch managers.
* act as the compliance gatekeeper for regulatory adherence within the region or branch.
* maintain vigilance for potential sales complaints, cancellations, surrender ratios, lapse rates, and other sales-related issues.
* identify and highlight potential financial, regulatory, and credit risks to the franchise.
* assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding citi, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, adhering to policies, and maintaining high ethical standards. This includes escalating, managing, and reporting control issues transparently and supervising others to uphold these standards.
