To provide field operations/maintenance work for the field vehicle fleet and ground support equipment, which requires preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and/or modifications.
responsibilities include repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshooting field vehicle fleet and ground equipment. Diagnoses sources of trouble, disassembles equipment, and performs repairs. Makes necessary adjustments for safe and efficient operation. Completes required paperwork for each assignment, including vurr, vagis, and famis documentation. Maintains a clean, safe work area in accordance with corporate/osha standards. Provides assistance, guidance, and direction to technicians and trainees as needed. Assumes primary responsibility for project completion. Ensures maintenance materials are maintained at approved inventory levels. Interfaces with customers (fedex employees) and vendors regarding vehicle and equipment repairs. Coordinates with us suppliers and fedex corporate vehicle and gse departments.
qualifications include six (6) years of recent fleet, automotive, heavy equipment, or truck vehicle maintenance experience and applicable licenses or vocational training. Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing tools, gauges, and troubleshooting methods for hydraulic, gasoline, electrical, and diesel automotive equipment. Ability to work independently for extended periods. Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components. Welding and basic d.c. electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Fluency in english is required.
