responsibilities:
* coordinate and investigate high-level fraud matters and/or network security incidents.
* utilize expertise in investigative interviewing, fraud identification, loss prevention, network security, and cyber-enabled fraud to identify activities, schemes, trends, and organized rings that pose risks to the firm, its employees, shareholders, systems, assets, and clients.
* conduct proactive, complex, high-profile, and sensitive investigations, developing cases to successful conclusions and providing timely fraud prevention intelligence to partners.
* engage with partners and management to keep them informed of significant developments during investigations.
* recover losses through court-ordered restitution, property, or direct payments by suspects.
* build external relationships with law enforcement, industry peers, and other support sources.
* interview and interrogate suspects, witnesses, and third parties, collect evidence, and conduct forensic examinations.
* represent citi in court, providing knowledge and supportive testimony.
* mentor and train junior staff members.
* brief others on ongoing investigations and projects.
* operate with limited supervision, exercising independence and judgment.
* act as sme to senior stakeholders and team members.
* assess risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding the firm's reputation, and escalating issues appropriately.
qualifications:
* 6-10 years of experience.
* ability to conduct investigative interviews and record facts and evidence coherently.
* experience investigating complex cases with substantial impact.
* understanding of forensic and ediscovery processes, data collection, examination, and analysis, maintaining integrity and chain of custody.
* experience testifying in criminal and civil court matters.
* mastery of investigative concepts and report writing skills.
* knowledge of financial products, fraud trends, and previous experience in us intelligence, military, law enforcement, law firm, or government service.
* experience in in-house investigations teams.
* professional certifications (cpa, cams, cfe, cff).
* proficiency in microsoft office suite and sharepoint.
* flexibility to work off-hours and weekends during critical phases.
education:
* bachelor's degree, potentially master's degree.
