Goal of Position
Design, calculation and mechanical layout of Planetary Gear Sets (PGS) and their components. The Product Group PGS is part of the Shift Systems Business Unit, within the Engine & Transmission Systems Business Division of the Powertrain and Chassis Division.
Your Qualifications
Educational:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
Advanced English – TOEFL min. score of ITP 585 / iBT 84, CEFR level B2-C1 (or equivalent)
Technical:
Automotive knowledge or industrial background (3-5 years, required)
Knowledge of the Product Development Process
Applicable engineering and physics knowledge
Knowledge of mechanical design and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Understanding of Transmission subsystems, Powertrain systems and vehicle architectures (ICE and xEV)
Background in FMEA and FEA/CFD (desired)
CAD software proficiency (PTC Creo preferred)
Your Key Responsibilities
Generation of designs and models of PGS systems and components, as well as their drawings
PDM (PTC Windchill) to release engineering data
Product function, durability and packaging calculations
Structural calculations of the product design
Handling of ADVP&R
Support quotation and industrialization (series production) efforts
