Position summary
we are seeking a junior data scientist to join our analytics team and support data-driven decision-making through analysis, modeling, and reporting. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in statistics and programming, and a desire to grow in machine learning and data-driven problem solving.
key responsibilities
* assist in gathering, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources
* perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
* build and test statistical and machine learning models under supervision
* support the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
* collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
* document methods, assumptions, and results clearly for technical and non-technical audiences
* help monitor model performance and data quality over time
* work with senior team members on ad hoc analysis and special projects
required qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, or a related field
* strong foundation in statistics, probability, and data analysis
* proficiency in python
* familiarity with sql and relational databases
* experience with data visualization tools such as tableau, power bi, or similar
* knowledge of git and version control workflows
* experience using ai code assistants such as claude code or codex
* strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
* ability to manage multiple tasks and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
preferred qualifications
* internship or project experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning
* exposure to machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, xgboost, etc.
* experience working with cloud platforms or big data tools
* understanding of business metrics and how data supports decision-making
