Payroll operations specialist
this role combines hands-on payroll execution with leadership responsibilities, including team supervision, process standardization, and support for system stabilization and future payroll integrations.
as a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll operations.
key responsibilities:
* process employee payroll accurately and on time, according to established pay frequency (bi-weekly) and off-cycle payrolls.
* ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to taxes and mandatory benefits.
* review mandatory deductions, including federal and state taxes (social security, medicare, federal/state withholding) and contributions to 401(k) plans.
* prepare and submit payroll reports to human resources and finance at the end of each pay cycle.
* prepare and file quarterly and annual (w-2) tax forms through adp.
* collaborate with hr, finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate data integration and regulatory compliance.
* manage payroll-related issues such as missing payments, corrections, garnishments, retroactive adjustments, etc.
* support internal and external audits by providing documentation and proof of tax and labor compliance.
* provide support and clarification to employees through the human resources team.
* monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting u.s. payroll and apply necessary updates to processes or systems.
* supervise the payroll specialist based in argentina, ensuring alignment with global payroll standards and compliance.
* support the hr and it team to stabilize the recently implemented payroll in the employee central payroll (ecp) system in argentina.
* support the onboarding and supervision of new payroll operations added to the shared services center in the short term.
* act as a point of escalation and guidance for regional payroll teams, fostering collaboration and consistency across geographies.
* lead payroll process standardization and documentation efforts across regions to ensure consistency and efficiency.
* manage and participate in payroll-related projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
