the manufacturing manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end manufacturing operations at the montemorelos facility, ensuring high performance in safety, quality, delivery, service, and cost. This role also oversees food safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance, while driving a culture of operational discipline and continuous improvement. The position plays a key role in ensuring alignment with corporate kpis, regulatory requirements, and del monte’s principles and values.
key responsibilities
* lead a team of operational leaders, facilitators, and production staff, ensuring adherence to company values and fostering a strong, principle-driven culture.
* drive ownership-based performance through alignment with kpis in safety, quality, delivery, service, and productivity (sqdsp), as defined by the coo.
* ensure optimal production planning, availability of raw and packaging materials, and effective inventory management to deliver a high-quality, safe final product.
* promote and oversee the continuous improvement program, ensuring compliance with gmps, ccps, and traceability requirements.
* institutionalize operational discipline through the deployment of daily performance management (dpm) practices and routines.
* oversee compliance with food safety regulations and quality systems such as brc and fssc22000.
* coordinate with support functions (planning, maintenance, quality, logistics) to ensure seamless plant operations.
* lead and manage performance reviews, audits, and readiness for external inspections related to safety and health standards.
required qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, food science, or a related field (food industry focus preferred).
* minimum 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing environments (production, quality, maintenance, logistics, or warehousing).
* experience in leading production teams and managing kpis in plant operations.
* proficiency in inventory control and warehouse operations (wip and finished goods).
* good knowledge of manufacturing processes and erp systems (sap, sagex3).
* familiarity with it tools and reporting (microsoft office suite, pbi).
* solid understanding of gmp, ccp, haccp, and traceability standards.
* working knowledge of food safety and quality systems (brc, fssc22000).
* experience in budget preparation and cost control.
* general knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (hse) standards.
* understanding of loto procedures and safety protocols.
* intermediate to advanced english (minimum 70%).
preferred qualifications
* green belt certification in lean six sigma or equivalent.
* tpm or continuous improvement project experience.
* experience in cross-functional leadership.
* exposure to food industry best practices and regulatory frameworks.
* knowledge of visual management systems and dpm methodology.
