position overview

this is a full‑time position based in our mexico city office with a hybrid model, therefore we are looking forward to seeing you in our office 2‑3 times per week.


responsibilities

* work closely with risk and compliance to create an internal risk management framework and ensure it runs efficiently.
* cover regulatory compliance and finance risk management.
* participate and conduct audit fieldwork, through test execution as well as production of the final report together with the team.
* identify issues and discuss them with relevant stakeholders.
* follow‑up action plans to ensure their correct implementation.
* participate in continuous risk assessments and prepare the annual audit plan.
* scope, plan, conduct and report on high‑risk audits independently.
* perform audit testing including interviews, data extraction and analysis, process design assessment and evaluation of internal control efficiency and effectiveness.
* prepare audit reports and present them to process owners, company management and regulators (as needed).
* assist management in the preparation of remediation activities.
* track and follow‑up on the implementation of recommendations and action plans resulting from audits.
* co‑train and mentor other collaborators.
* review audit work papers and, when needed, direct audit activities of other collaborators.
* execute responsibilities in accordance with the iia's international standards for the professional practice of internal auditing and in compliance with the ethical standards of the internal audit profession.


requirements

* bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting/finance/business/economics science or similar.
* at least 5 years in the financial industry.
* at least 3 years of experience in external, internal audit, controlling or other finance‑related positions.
* knowledge of financial market regulations, including mexican banking and sofipo regulation, grc framework and issue management.
* very good knowledge of sap systems and ms excel.
* desired knowledge of data processing and analytical tools (power‑bi, power query, bw, bo).
* a thorough understanding of banking processes, internal audit, internal control.
* intermediate english skills.
* soft skills – hands‑on and willing to get hands dirty on execution; organized – decision‑making based on risk mitigation; great team player, communication and listening skills; critical thinking; strong prioritization and organization skills; self‑starter and ability to work independently.
