principal responsibilities
* supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members.
* develop, maintain, and review regional policies and sops in alignment with operations, finance, and management.
* oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities in accordance with the close checklist and corporate policies and processes.
* prepare and post journal entries and ensure accurate processing of financial data in oracle ebs.
* lead monthly intercompany reconciliations, ensuring balances are confirmed and discrepancies resolved.
* manage balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations; investigate variances and coordinate corrective actions.
* support the latam controller with monthly variance analysis.
* conduct quarterly reviews of differences between local statutory books and reporting books, providing detailed explanations and documentation as needed.
* oversee payroll accounting, including review and posting of payroll entries.
* ensure accurate and timely submission of local tax reports in compliance with country‑specific regulations.
* lead internal and external audit activities.
* maintain accurate and complete financial data in oracle ebs.
* execute month‑end tasks and other duties as assigned.
* ensure strong internal controls are in place and functioning effectively.
* actively contribute to financial systems implementations and enhancements.
* perform transaction analyses and provide financial insights to management.
* identify opportunities for process improvement and drive implementation.
* support special projects assigned by the latam controller, regional director of finance, or other leaders.
* perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
* advanced proficiency in spanish and english.
* strong computer skills, including microsoft excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros) and microsoft 365.
* experience with oracle financials or similar erp systems.
* minimum 5 years of experience as an accounting manager in accounting, collections, billing, or finance.
* knowledge of us gaap.
* demonstrated leadership ability and strong analytical skills.
* excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
* ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
preferred qualifications
* advanced portuguese proficiency.
