Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for manufacturing lines, with a focus on improving efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and production managers to define project requirements and specifications.
- Utilize expertise in machine building and tooling to design and prototype custom equipment and fixtures for automated assembly processes.
- Integrate electronic components and sensors into enclosures to enable product longevity while at the same time guaranteeing ease of manufacturing and efficient cost.
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance evaluations of mechanical designs to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation equipment and fixtures utilization.
- Support mechanical engineering design and testing activities related to our portfolio solutions.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations throughout the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of proven experience in machine building, tooling, and mechanical design for automation applications or products design.
- Proficiency in mechanical simulation.
- Hands-on experience with electronics and sensors used in products.
- Familiarity with radio frequency technologies such as BLE, WiFi, Cellular, LoRa and GPS including material selection for enclosures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Prior experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams is a plus.
