event accountant
location: mexico city
schedule: monday to friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
travel availability: yes, especially during key events
must-have qualifications
* bachelor's degree in accounting (completed)
* minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within events, hospitality, or entertainment
* advanced proficiency in excel and experience with netsuite
* strong background in high-volume ar/ap reconciliations
* experience in financial closing, invoicing, and process development
* proven experience in financial project management
* excellent communication skills with vendors
* high flexibility and adaptability to fast-paced environments
* willingness to travel and support on-site during events
key responsibilities
* manage all financial aspects of assigned events, including revenue tracking, expense control, and budget compliance
* collaborate with event teams to create and monitor budgets throughout the event lifecycle
* process and track invoices, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payments
* prepare detailed financial reports and insights for internal stakeholders
* reconcile accounts post-event, ensuring accuracy and timely closure
* support internal and external audits with relevant documentation
* work closely with event managers, finance teams, and external partners to ensure financial alignment and clear communication
