The Controller works under tight deadlines on multiple activities including financial reporting, planning, budgeting, cash management, credit, internal controls, foreign exchange, local tax compliance, and year-end audit.
An idóneo candidate for the job would be a person who can work independently, has strong organization and management skills, can be an effective business partner to the sales & commercial teams, can manage the local regulatory compliance, has strong internal controls experience, and can take ownership of the numbers by supervising and managing the two accountants and the local accounting firm supporting the business.
Key Activities:
- Financial Reporting and Analyses – hands-on responsibility.
- Month-end Close - ensuring integrity, accuracy and timeliness of balance sheet and income statement, in compliance to US GAAP, and local statutory requirements.
- Monthly business analytics, comparison with prior period, budget, variances.
- Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls.
- Ensure internal controls are effective, maintain relations with external auditors and manage annual audits (statutory, global, tax, etc.)
- Business Partnering – support operations to help drive financial profitability and cash flow through cost control, improved profitability, and efficient utilization of working capital.
- Treasury – assist group treasurer in maintaining relationships with local banks and obtaining credit facilities from the local banks; manage foreign exchange risk.
- Cash Management - manage cash balances and cash forecasts.
Requirements
- Strong organization and management skills.
- 8 to 10+ years overall experience of, which at least 3 years as a Finance Manager/Controller.
- A self-starter, Initiative driven individual with strong desire to succeed.
- Strong on internal controls and compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research and be the owner of the P&L;, Balance Sheet, and other financials; can tell the story behind the numbers instead of hiding behind them.
- Working knowledge in Spanish GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS
- Detail oriented and organized in work; ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
- Travel Requirements is minimal.
- Professional level of English and Spanish language skills.
