Job objective : the supply chain materials manager will provide strategic direction, leadership, and daily support to ensure customer service, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency align with our growth strategy across all locations. This role requires travel, data analysis for forecasting, transportation, delivery, storage, inventory management, and the development of budgets, policies, procedures, and infrastructure to support business objectives.
responsibilities :
* oversee all supply chain management (scm) practices, ensuring compliance with environmental policies, standards, regulations, and laws.
* define and monitor key performance metrics such as product cost, on-time delivery, and quality.
* lead scm collaboration in sales, finance, operations, and manufacturing planning (s&op), driving kpis to align material planning with demand.
* develop strategies to mitigate supply chain risks, including contingencies for demand and supply disruptions.
* travel as needed for long-term assignments.
* manage order scheduling, chain management, tooling procurement, ensuring no outstanding orders for finished products or service parts.
* perform purchasing functions with current suppliers, including issuing purchase orders.
* implement jit and demand flow techniques, utilizing kanban and 5s to ensure quality and consistency.
* develop plans for each part (pfep).
* establish and lead efficient finished product operations in the warehouse, maintaining inventory levels using demand flow techniques.
experience and skills :
* 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within the maquiladora industry, preferably automotive.
* extensive knowledge of production scheduling, warehousing, material handling, methods, and practices.
* knowledge of customs regulations in mexico and the us.
* proven ability to develop staff and lead high-performance teams.
* experience implementing production plans within budget constraints.
* effective communication and negotiation skills.
