the ready-mix driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. * conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
* deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites
* operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws
* clean and wash vehicle to include the removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer
* must be willing to work according to customer demands
* operate a radio to communicate with company personnel
* adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations
* responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
* attend safety meetings as scheduled by management
education
high school diploma/ged
requirements/qualifications
* must have currentcommercial class a or b driver’s license with airbrakes and tank endorsement
* safe driving record (will have to provide dmv h-6 printout) - no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months
* must have a current department of transportation (dot) medical certificate
* ability to read a map and understand verbal and gps driving route instructions
* must have familiarity with slumps
* good attendance and punctuality a must
* ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
* must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears
* adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations
* must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends and nights, may be required
preferred:
* experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries
* 2+ years of commercial driving experience
conditions of employment
successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require fmcsa regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
