about the role
we are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced salesforce business analyst to partner with the business and technical teams access the salesforce ecosystem.
this role will work closely with the enterprise and audit teams to design and implement processes, policies, and security documentation required for compliance with sox (sarbanes-oxley) and itgc
(it general controls). The analyst will play a key role in audit readiness, particularly in access management and change management. Additionally, this individual will collaborate with business leaders
to understand and document business processes, enabling effective governance and ongoing salesforce maintenance. This role will also support release management activities, working alongside qa
and development teams to ensure deployments adhere to established policies and procedures.

key responsibilities:
* business analyst:
* lead requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
* create user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria
* act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams
* sox/itgc control monitoring & auditing:
* develop, implement, and maintain processes for monitoring and auditing sox and itgc controls within salesforce or supporting platforms.
* conduct regular reviews of system logs, audit trails, and configurations to identify control gaps or non-compliance.
* partner with internal and external auditors to provide documentation and support audits.
* maintain current and comprehensive documentation of controls, policies, and procedures.
* change management & release governance:
* review salesforce configuration changes (e.g., objects, fields, flows) to ensure compliance with change management processes.
* validate that changes are properly authorized, tested, and deployed.
* support release management processes and enforce governance standards.
* ensure proper segregation of duties across development and deployment processes.
* security & access management:
* administer and review profiles, permission sets, roles, and sharing settings in alignment with the principle of least privilege.
* conduct periodic access reviews and user audits.
* identify and mitigate risks related to excessive or inappropriate access.
* data visibility & sharing model oversight:
* maintain expertise in salesforce data model and sharing architecture (owd, roles, sharing rules).
* monitor and audit data access to ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
* recommend and implement solutions for complex data-sharing needs.
* incident response & remediation:
* support investigation and resolution of security incidents and audit findings.
* drive corrective actions and preventative measures.
* documentation & training:
* develop and maintain documentation for processes, controls, and configurations.
* provide training and guidance on security best practices and compliance requirements.
qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or related field
* 3+ years of experience as a salesforce administrator and/or business analyst, with a focus on security, compliance, or audit
* salesforce administrator certification (required)
* salesforce business analyst certification (preferred)
* strong understanding of salesforce security model (profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules, owd)
* experience with change management tools (e.g., gearset)
* strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
* ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
