about the role
the content strategist is a crucial, client-facing role responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with both clients and internal stakeholders. The strategist handles more enterprise clients and should have a deep understanding of the service line and its impact on other areas of the business to create a holistic marketing strategy. Internally, this role is titled account strategist, content & seo.
what you'll do
* strategic excellence and best practices: create custom strategies and implement best practices to help clients achieve nsms. Build initial client strategy from project phase and continuously optimize based on clients’ goals, campaigns, and performance while following directive best practices.
* collaboration: work closely with associate director (asd) when roadblocks affect strategy and goal attainment.
* craft creative briefs and content campaigns with ideation based on competitor and audience insights.
* apply best practices to position clients to exceed goals, including:
o ltv:cac modeling
o customer generation
o share of serp
o content production
* goal setting: use available data to set client goals, reviewed and approved by the associate director (asd) in meetings.
* data sources include google analytics, crm data, semrush reporting, and ahrefs reporting
* all goals must be approved by the asd before presenting to the client with the asd.
* project management: ensure planned strategy is executed and the team and client know who is responsible for tasks to progress toward goals.
* use of the project management tool asana is required; delegate tasks to team members and clients, and ensure timely completion.
* in pods with project managers, partner with pms to ensure tasks are created, assigned, and due dates are met and communicated to the client.
* collaborate with content writers and designers to deliver content campaigns on time while maintaining quality standards.
* internal and external communication: act as the main interface between clients and the team; build strong relationships beyond deliverables and proactively communicate with clients and internal leadership to drive results.
* when communicating with clients, share timeline expectations, progress on goals, and use slack and other channels for regular updates between bi-weekly meetings.
* with internal leadership, flag roadblocks, opportunities for account growth, and changes in client accounts.
1. reporting: regularly report progress and impact to clients. Cadence includes:
* bi-weekly client meetings with nsm progress and ongoing deliverables
* monthly reports
* quarterly reports
* bi-annual business reviews
what you'll bring
* proven track record in seo principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building
* analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and seo metrics using tools like google analytics
* strong communication skills: comfortable client-facing and owning relationships with key stakeholders
* familiarity with industry tools such as google search console, google analytics, semrush, ahrefs, screaming frog
* proven organizational, project, and time management skills
* genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, seo and content
* agency experience required
* b2b tech and/or saas experience required
