the project manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific development projects. This role involves managing the development of a product, service, or investment project, ensuring all technical, cost, quality, and delivery requirements are met. The project manager is accountable for meeting recurring cost (rc), manufacturing, purchasing, and maintainability objectives, with budget responsibilities delegated by a program manager or division/business unit leader.
the following duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed:
1. define and implement the project development plan according to safran's standards, aligning with performance, quality, delivery, and cost commitments.
2. understand product integration within systems and relate these to customer needs and requirements.
3. organize projects using project management methodologies, including formalizing pbs/wbs/obs and managing through a project management plan (pmp).
4. develop and monitor project schedules with buffers, considering supplier constraints.
5. support program milestone and tollgate reviews during development and serial production phases.
6. implement earned value management for planning, budgeting, and tracking project progress and variances.
7. manage recurring costs, design to cost (dtc), and design for manufacture (dfm) strategies.
8. manage project risks, budgets, and mitigation plans using safran's risk management tools.
9. lead cross-functional project teams to meet performance objectives.
10. assist in fiscal year budgeting and business case development.
11. oversee subcontractor and supplier relationships.
12. lead configuration management and new product introduction (npi) processes.
13. apply change management controls effectively and document project/work package changes for review and approval.
education:
bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
experience:
4-6 years of related experience leading medium-sized projects or multiple large work packages, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
other skills:
proficiency with ms project or planisware, ms office suite, project planning, team leadership, and organizational skills.
