Field quality engineer
about the role
as a field quality engineer in the food preservation product line (juarez factory), you will play a key role in bridging the quality organization, r&d, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and market-facing team (cdi). As a technical expert with deep product and component-level understanding, your mission is to continuously improve product quality and reliability, ensuring the satisfaction and trust of our customers across diverse markets (with focus on north america).
you will be instrumental in identifying field quality trends, initiating improvement initiatives, and contributing to new product development with valuable market feedback. This is a strategic and hands-on role that requires collaboration across global cross-functional teams, a strong analytical mindset, and a passion for quality excellence.
key responsibilities
field performance analysis: gather and analyze consumer feedback through quality databases (e.g., qes, cstar) to identify and address key product issues.
market collaboration: partner with cdi/service team to capture and resolve market-specific quality challenges.
root cause analysis: drive data-driven investigations and lead cross-functional action plans to resolve quality issues effectively.
quality monitoring: report early warnings or potential disruptions to product quality or safety, enabling proactive interventions.
reporting & communication: prepare clear and impactful quality performance reports to inform management decisions and drive prioritization.
returns management: lead the process for returning defective components and appliances from the field, coordinate failure analysis, and oversee follow-up improvements.
product compliance: ensure nonconforming products are quarantined and prevented from reaching end customers.
technical support: assist in training and troubleshooting with field service technicians to ensure a high standard of post-sales support.
support new product introductions (npi): provide market-driven insights and participate in defining quality targets for new products.
continuous improvement: own and maintain a comprehensive quality action plan for the region, contributing to global quality initiatives.
cost efficiency: drive warranty cost reductions through robust quality interventions and process improvements.
qualifications
bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
fluent in english, both written and spoken.
minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or field quality.
proficient in quality improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., 8d, fmea, pdca).
strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
experience in food preservation technologies and understanding of common product defects is a strong plus.
proven ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional and multicultural teams.
