Hawk excavator and eddy pump, leaders in heavy industrial and dredging equipment, are seeking a manufacturing buyer/planner for our tijuana facility. This role is critical in managing procurement and planning activities between our u.s. and mexico operations. The buyer/planner will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials while coordinating production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and efficient manufacturing operations.
key responsibilities
* source, purchase, and negotiate with suppliers for industrial components (castings, fabrications, machined parts, hydraulics, electrical, etc.).
* develop and maintain supplier relationships across mexico, u.s., india, and china.
* coordinate with production, engineering, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
* create, maintain, and adjust production schedules in alignment with demand and inventory levels.
* manage purchase orders, confirmations, and delivery follow-up.
* monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.
* support erp/mrp system for planning, scheduling, and procurement functions.
* work closely with cross-border teams in san diego and tijuana to align supply chain priorities.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, business, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing procurement or planning role.
* strong knowledge of industrial parts and manufacturing supply chains.
* experience working with international suppliers (mexico, u.s., asia).
* erp/mrp system experience required.
* strong negotiation and communication skills.
* bilingual (english/spanish) strongly preferred.
* detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
