Job descriptionthis role is ideal for an early-career professional with 1–2 years of experience in accounting and finance who is looking to continue developing their career in a dynamic operational environment.as a staff accountant, you will support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost and inventory accounting activities while working closely with erp systems, financial documentation, and cross-functional teams.
this position offers hands-on exposure to operational accounting processes and opportunities to strengthen technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.responsibilities- maintain accurate accounting records for assigned growers, including costs, payments, advances, pick and pack charges, and other agro-inputs.
- process grower liquidations (preliminary and final), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established terms.
- track, reconcile, and monitor packaging and hard goods inventory, coordinating with suppliers, operations, and internal stakeholders.
- perform purchase order and invoice matching, process credit memos, and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
- monitor exchange rates and ensure accurate posting of monetary requests and transfers.
- prepare and maintain electronic financial records and support internal and external audits as required.
- assist in the preparation of financial reports, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery of information for decision-making.
- support the controller and grower accounting manager with financial analysis, reporting, special projects, and ad-hoc requests.
- collaborate with team members across departments and provide backup support for other accounting functions when needed.
- maintain effective communication and coordination with the us team to support operational alignment.
requirements- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, or related functions.
- experience working with erp/accounting systems such as famous, contpaq, or similar platforms.
- familiarity with financial reporting processes and accounting documentation.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual in spanish and english preferred.
- prior exposure to grower relations, accounting coordination, inventory management, or agricultural operations is a plus.skills & characteristics- strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- high degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to seasonal workload fluctuations.
- proficiency in erp/accounting systems and microsoft office applications, particularly excel.
- working knowledge of bi/reporting tools and digital filing systems.
- team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- willingness to occasionally travel to packinghouses or grower locations.
