Shift Area Manager, Last Mile Operations

Responsibilities
- Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements for sort operation; manage a team to meet all building goals.
- Support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and Delivery Service Providers.
- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools.
- Lead day-to-day management of the delivery station, overseeing operations that focus on delivering Amazon orders to customers.
- Lead a team of Process Assistants and Delivery Service Providers, including meetings, training, assigning duties, and communicating with DSPs and their drivers.
- Ensure a safe workplace with properly trained people whose needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs.
- Help in daily operations: receive, scan, lift and move shipments up to 25 kg; route shipments within the AMZL coverage area; monitor sorting operation and driver dispatch.
- Continual standing or walking; ability to work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air-conditioned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years Amazon experience.
- 2+ years of direct management experience for employees and their performance.
- 3+ years of general experience.
- Flexibility to work weekends and/or overnight shifts; availability to work 50% of the time on a night shift.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field is a plus.
- 2+ years management experience in a delivery, manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
- Management of a minimum of 30 employees (including payroll, performance management, work-flow assignment).
- Interest in long-term career development in Logistics & Transportation.
- Experience managing 3PL operations.
- Familiar with the area and willing to relocate.
