Field specialist – control & instrumentation
as a field specialist – control & instrumentation, you will lead the technical execution of on‑site installation, maintenance, testing, and startup activities for gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and generators across latin america. You will ensure safe, high‑quality operations in accordance with engineering best practices and contractual requirements.
in this role, you will:
* possess excellent functional, technical, customer focus, communication, interpersonal, and team‑working skills, and specialize in instrumentation and control panels.
* perform installation and/or maintenance activities of rotating equipment autonomously at customer sites.
* execute minor and major maintenance according to service checklists, serving as the primary contact for the customer representative and site team.
* provide records of all activities to the baker hughes iet supervisor and maintain good team relations.
* execute all responsibilities safely following iet service processes and procedures.
* perform other related duties as required by the scope of work.
* provide limited troubleshooting on equipment under maintenance or installation.
* conduct all business activities in accordance with baker hughes core values (hse, quality, and compliance).
qualifications & skills required
* bachelor's degree and industry experience with iet product line training.
* 4–6 years of industry experience with iet product line training.
* strong functional, technical, customer focus, communication, interpersonal, and team working skills.
* specialization in instrumentation and control panels.
* knowledge of control systems such as markvie, woodward/micronet, opticom.
* knowledge of products such as aero lm2500, lm6000, heavy‑duty gas turbines, centrifugal compressors.
* knowledge of dle/tuning dln for turbines is a plus.
* intermediate/advanced english proficiency.
* utilization around 85 %; able to travel locally and internationally.
* ability to work offshore.
* bosiet/thuet certificates are a plus.
