Global sourcing category manager opportunity
we are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role plays a crucial part in the organization's global sourcing strategy, focusing on cost efficiency, supplier excellence, and long-term sustainability of the supply chain.
key responsibilities:
* develop and execute global sourcing strategies for assigned categories, prioritizing cost savings, innovation, and supplier value.
* build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance standards are met and fostering long-term partnerships.
* negotiate high-value contracts, emphasizing cost optimization, quality, delivery performance, and risk management.
* identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors.
* collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with corporate objectives.
* drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements through new supplier identification and innovative sourcing approaches.
required skills and qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field or 10 years of relevant work experience (5+ years in sourcing) without a college degree.
* 5+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement; leading, developing, and managing supply chain strategy and supplier base.
* experience creating category strategies to manage tariff situations in various countries.
* demonstrated expertise in sourcing injection molding components, including knowledge of polymer materials, mold design, and tooling project lifecycle management.
* ability to travel as needed.
* strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex supplier contracts while driving cost savings.
* proven ability to scope and create projects reducing cost, improving productivity, reducing supplier risk, and increasing capacity.
* collaborative communication and problem-solving skills with a willingness to share knowledge with colleagues.
* ability to foster trust and build strong interpersonal connections with leadership teams.
