Role overview
we are looking for a "hands-on" technical product owner to join our leading healthtech scale-up. This is a high-execution, senior individual contributor role. We are not looking for marketing strategists, growth managers, or industrial project managers. We need a specialist who can bridge the gap between business compliance requirements and engineering execution.
the role is 90% operational, focusing on technical documentation, backlog grooming, and functional validation, and 10% strategic .
core responsibilities
* technical backlog management: translate complex healthcare compliance regulations into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria using given/when/then (gherkin) syntax.
* engineering alignment: act as the primary operational link between engineering, ux/ui, and operations to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.
* quality control & uat: perform functional testing (qa) and user acceptance testing to validate that releases meet the "definition of done."
* sdlc ownership: manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery to delivery, ensuring a clean and prioritized backlog in jira .
* technical documentation: maintain high-quality product documentation in confluence, including data flows, business logic, and compliance maps.
* data-driven prioritization: monitor kpis (churn, adoption, mrr) and technical logs to make informed decisions on backlog priority.
mandatory requirements (non-negotiable)
* experience: 5+ years of experience in software product management or product ownership specifically for saas platforms.
* note: profiles from marketing, sales, or industrial/manufacturing project management will not be considered.
* technical proficiency: deep understanding of the software development life cycle (sdlc). Ability to discuss apis, microservices, and system architecture with engineers.
* expert tooling: expert-level mastery of jira software and confluence. Proficiency in figma (for hand-off) and analytics tools (e.g., mixpanel, amplitude, or looker).
* compliance experience: previous experience in regulated industries (healthtech, fintech, or legaltech) is a significant plus.
* languages: advanced english (professional/technical proficiency) and spanish.
* ownership: a proactive, "no-ego" approach to documentation and bug-hunting.
compensation & benefits
* monthly salary: $55,000 - $65,000 mxn net (mixed payroll scheme).
* location: 100% remote (must reside in mexico).
