The senior logistics specialist plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations. This position is responsible for coordinating transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with logistics software, and a proven track record of improving operational efficiency.
key responsibilities:
* coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
* optimize transportation routes and carrier selection to reduce costs and improve delivery performance.
* monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure product availability.
* analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
* manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3pls), freight forwarders, and carriers.
* ensure accurate documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork.
* lead or support logistics-related projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
* maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* provide mentorship and guidance to junior logistics staff.
* bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
* strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and incoterms.
* proficiency in logistics software (e.g., sap, oracle, tms, wms).
* excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* strong communication and negotiation abilities.
