Area shift manager jr is responsible for supporting last mile operations within a delivery station. The role manages a team of over 20 hourly associates, overseeing safety, attrition, payroll, shifts, vacations, overtime, and key operational metrics such as delivery efficiency, number of routes, and cost per shipment. Additionally, this role supports purchasing tools, services, and consumables for the station.

area shift manager jr should coach and mentor the hourly team to meet performance objectives, foster positive employee relations, and build organizational bench strength. The role involves continuously improving delivery process efficiency, promoting a culture of customer obsession, safety, and best practices. It also serves as a thought partner with internal teams for launching new stations and designing new delivery models.
key responsibilities include:
1. create a balance between "work hard" and "have fun" with associates.
2. ensure team execution aligns with business goals.
3. support process improvement activities for inefficiencies and new functions.
4. engage in process mapping activities.
5. assist in developing, documenting, deploying, and monitoring key business processes.
6. monitor operational kpis within the delivery station.
7. support organizational change initiatives.
8. conduct deep analysis of kpis.
9. support customer service and other upcoming goals.
10. measure driver performance, discipline, and customer experience.
11. execute internal audits.
12. participate in quality and process change initiatives to achieve continuous improvements.
13. implement changes or develop new processes to improve service and reduce costs.
14. develop and implement delivery station workflows and metrics according to standard processes.
minimum qualifications include:
* high school diploma or equivalent.
* availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
* basic english (a2 level).
* at least 2 years of previous experience.
* 1+ year experience as a people manager.
preferred qualifications:
* bachelor's degree completed.
* advanced english skills.
* over 3 years of experience in operations.
* knowledge of lean manufacturing tools.
