We are seeking a highly experienced customs compliance manager to design, lead, and strengthen our customs compliance strategy, ensuring strict adherence to mexican regulations and global trade standards while driving operational excellence across our manufacturing network.
*what you’ll do*
in this strategic and hands-on leadership role, you will:
- guarantee full compliance with mexican customs law (ley aduanera, reglas generales de comercio exterior, etc.) across all import/export operations.
- lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of customs compliance programs, policies, and controls.
- manage and evaluate customs brokers, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and documentation of goods.
- coordinate and lead audits, as well as respond to sat and secretaría de economía inquiries.- train and guide internal teams on compliance best practices and regulatory updates.
- collaborate closely with supply chain, legal, logistics, and finance to align compliance with business goals.
- track and analyze compliance metrics, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
*what you bring*
- bachelor’s degree in international trade, law, business, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in customs compliance, with a strong focus on mexican regulations in manufacturing.
- expert knowledge of ley aduanera, t-mec/usmca, immex, prosec.
- proven success managing customs brokers, government relationships, and audits.
- advanced spanish and english proficiency (both verbal and written).
- strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.

- experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- knowledge of erp/trade systems (sap gts, etc.).
