*what you will do*
this position plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties:
*how you will do it*
- lead the facility efforts in the transformation of the quality culture and improvement of our processes and products with the goal of zero defects.
- lead efforts to drive operational excellence by identifying appropriate leading/lagging key performance indicators (kpis), setting targets, developing action plans, and driving cross-functional teams to improve processes and products.
- lead cross-functional teams to reduce the cost of poor quality (copq) through structured root cause problem solving activities such as 8d and six sigma.
- develop, improve, and sustain the iso * quality management system, including management of the internal audit programs and leadership during external audits.
- plan and oversee the analysis, inspection, testing, and other process controls to assure the quality of the facility products or components to meet specification.
- lead the facility advance product quality planning (apqp) stage gate quality deliverables for new product/process development and engineering change notification (ecn) projects.
- manage the facility supplier quality program including incoming inspection, production part approval process (ppap), supplier corrective actions, and scorecards to drive improvement.
- maintain a working knowledge of necessary government and industry quality codes and standards.

*required*:
- bilingual (english and spanish)
- bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, manufacturing engineering) or a technical discipline.
- minimum 5 years of related quality experience in an iso/ts certified manufacturing environment with at least 2 years of prior leadership experience.
- extensive knowledge of iso * quality management systems and ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
- prior experience with new product introduction (npi) and advanced product quality planning (apqp) techniques including production part approval process (ppap).
- strong background of root cause problem solving including knowledge of 8d, six sigma and statistical process control (spc) tools and techniques.
- demonstrated track record of driving a culture of quality transformation towards zero defects.
- demonstrated strengths of resiliency, process-driven, and process-oriented as well as successfully implementing quality standards and best practices.
*preferred*:
- masters degree (engineering, business, or quality)
- six sigma certification green/black belt (ssbb/ssgb)
- asq certified manager of quality (cmq/oe) or certified quality engineer (cqe)
- iso lead auditor certified or asq certified quality auditor (cqa)
