we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented medical virtual administrative assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and administrative processes within a clinical setting. This role requires excellent organizational skills, excellent customer service, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service for cancer patients. The medical administrative assistant will support the daily operations of our medical office, scheduling patients via video conference, scheduling procedures, coordinating with the ambulatory surgical center ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.
assisting in prior authorizations for medicine, ordering medications for patients through scholarship or pharmacy services. Answering the phone, texts and emails. Uploading faxes to the emr. Communicating with the doctor through hipaa compliant texting, email and through the emr (practice fusion).
responsibilities
 * manage front desk operations including greeting patients virtually, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
 * maintain and update patient records in electronic health record (ehr) systems such as practice fusion.
 * perform sending patients superbills and hcfa forms including cpt coding and icd-9/icd-10 coding.
 * verify insurance information as needed.
 * review documentation for accuracy and compliance with hipaa regulations.
 * provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence in the emr practice fusion.
 * assist in the preparation of care plans and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
 * facilitate communication between patients and the doctor to enhance patient service.
 * utilize microsoft office and jotform applications for various administrative tasks.
 * support health information management processes within the clinic.
qualifications
 * previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
 * familiarity with ehr systems such as practice fusion is highly desirable.
 * knowledge of medical terminology, icd coding, cpt coding, medicare processes, and hipaa compliance.
 * bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
 * strong computer skills including proficiency in microsoft office suite and familiar with google voice.
 * demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
 * ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
