About Regulatory Compliance and Regulation Management
Regulatory Compliance sits within Group Risk & Compliance. Group Regulatory Compliance specifically focuses on protecting our license to operate, our customers and the integrity of the financial markets.
Within Group Regulatory Compliance is the Group Regulation Management team which is responsible for owning the processes, operating models, and infrastructure to support HSBC’s regulation management landscape. Regulation Management provides the foundation for demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements across HSBC group-wide through its technology platforms and the management of HSBC’s inventory of its rules, regulations, and laws for its license to operate.
It works across the Group, engaging daily with Risk Stewards (global and regional), Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory Excellence, Group Legal, Group Internal Audit, Assurance, and regulatory change programmes.
The Opportunity:
Regulation Management is a combined pool of functions that include Horizon Scanning, Regulatory Mapping and Regulatory Reporting verticals.
- Horizon Scanning: supporting the enterprise-wide expansion of the identification and oversight of upcoming and in train material regulatory developments; supporting the Group to address regulatory change.
- Regulation Mapping: supporting the strategic enterprise-wide regulation mapping programme, including the development of common mapping process and system architecture necessary to support the programme.
- Regulatory Reporting Inventory: supporting the Group Integrity in Regulatory Reporting (IRR) programme in delivering and maintaining a “golden source” Regulatory Reporting and Notifications inventory and delivering attestations from Inventory Stewards (Inventory complete and accurate) and Report Owners (Category 1 report control environment status).
The job holder will report to Manager, Regulation Management located in CoE Mexico and will interact with the in country Regulatory Affairs and Risk Stewards on a regular basis to ensure successful attainment of the objectives including enhancing the efficiency of the process.
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities
- Triage all Alerts which fall within the workload (based on jurisdiction and Risk Steward area) on a regular (usually daily) basis.
- Undertake the initial Applicability Assessment of a Development and pass findings to the Regulatory Affairs member.
- Prepare Communications on Developments using the Newsletter feature of RAPID2.
- Prepare a high level summary of the ongoing regulatory developments and share it with the business on a periodic basis.
- Prepare and share daily, weekly, monthly Management Reports.
- Review and assign Regulatory Developments alerts to the respective regional reviewers.
- Analyze and prepare reports on various actions taken by the regulators.
- Creation of ‘Regulatory Development’ records from alerts, and the assignment of actions and sub- actions, which will serve as a workflow management solution.
- Being responsible for enhancement and documentation of the process.
- Perform periodic Quality check on open/completed/assigned alerts and share the report with the business.
- Complete the UAT and provide feedback to the IT / Business.
