role overview:

zapp is looking for a business development lead to spearhead strategic partnerships that will drive zapp’s growth and value in the remittance ecosystem. You’ll identify and cultivate high-impact relationships with partners including money transfer operators, payout networks, stablecoin on/offramps, and other relevant players. You’ll own the full lifecycle of partnership development—from sourcing to execution—and play a key role in unlocking new capabilities, markets, and efficiencies for zapp.

key responsibilities:

* identify and source strategic partners: proactively identify potential partners aligned with zapp’s mission—including money transfer operators, digital payers, banking networks, crypto on/offramps, and fintech platforms.
* evaluate opportunities: conduct market and financial analysis to assess potential value, cost savings, user experience improvements, and alignment with zapp’s strategic goals.
* develop relationships: build and manage strong relationships with key decision-makers across prospective and current partners.
* lead negotiations: drive deal structuring, negotiations, and contract execution in collaboration with legal, compliance, and leadership teams.
* implementation oversight: coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure smooth technical and operational implementation of partnerships.
* monitor & optimize: track performance of partnerships post-launch; identify opportunities to deepen engagement, improve outcomes, or pivot as needed.
* cross-functional collaboration: work closely with product, compliance, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure partnerships are fully integrated and maximized.

requirements:

* 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, strategy, or related roles—ideally within fintech, payments, or remittances
* strong analytical skills with the ability to create financial models and business cases to justify partnerships
* excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
* highly organized with strong project management capabilities
* self-starter with a bias toward action and results
* comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

nice to have:

* mba or equivalent advanced degree
* background in finance, consulting, or investment analysis
* experience working in or with cross-border payments or remittances
* familiarity with crypto-based payment infrastructure and stablecoins
