*title:*dg boss: assistant pol superintendent (fn)the assistant petroleum, oils, and lubricants (pol) superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day fuel terminal and liquid fuels operations for a u.s. Navy installation. As part of the management team, this position coordinates with contractor management, employees, and u.s. Government personnel across all annexes to ensure compliance with the performance work statement (pws), navy regulations, and safety standards. The assistant pol superintendent ensures operational readiness, efficiency, and environmental compliance of pol systems, including storage, distribution, and fueling operations. This role provides a full range of pol and aviation fuel support services and logistic support for naval support facility (nsf) dg, its tenant commands, and all user activities afloat and ashore, ensuring uninterrupted mission-critical fueling capability. Duties include managing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supervising fuel system technicians, and ensuring support services integrate effectively with related areas such as fire protection, logistics, facility services, equipment maintenance, and grounds maintenance.*roles and responsibilities* provide a full range of pol and aviation fuel support services and logistic support for nsf dg, its tenant commands, and all user activities afloat and ashore.* coordinate daily pol operations across all annexes, ensuring compliance with pws requirements, navy regulations, and applicable dod policies.* assist the pol superintendent in managing liquid fuel terminal operations, including receipt, storage, transfer, and distribution of petroleum products.* oversee maintenance activities for pol infrastructure, including tanks, pumps, pipelines, valves, meters, filtration systems, and control systems, iaw navy maintenance procedures.* ensure operational readiness and safe functionality of pressure-type hydrant and pantograph fuel systems. Supervise and direct fuel system maintenance technicians, ensuring work is performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.* coordinate with contractor management, employees, and government representatives to resolve operational issues, schedule maintenance, and optimize mission support.* ensure integration and coordination with related support areas such as fire protection, logistics, facility services, equipment maintenance, and grounds maintenance.* conduct inspections, verify quality assurance, and ensure documentation of all maintenance actions iaw* navseainst 4790.8 (series) or applicable navy maintenance documentation systems.* maintain records of fuel inventories, system status, maintenance schedules, and operational reports for submission to the government.* assist in training and certifying personnel on pol systems operations, safety procedures, and environmental compliance standards.* support contingency fueling operations and emergency response activities as required and directed.* some after-hours, weekend, and on-call work may be required to support mission operations.* performs other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.*basic qualifications* must be a u.s. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a dod security clearance (secret or higher as required).* knowledge of navy and dod petroleum handling, safety, and environmental regulations.* proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance procedures.* strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills for working with both contractors and government teams.* excellent organizational and administrative skills, with proficiency in microsoft office suite (word, excel, outlook, powerpoint).* proven ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion of multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities.* must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.* must possess a country-of-origin driver’s license and be able to drive a manual and automatic transmission*preferred qualifications*job specifications: special certifications or training* certification from the defense logistics agency (dla) energy is highly desired.* fuels manager defense (fmd)* base level defense fuels management* responsible officer, terminal manager, and property administrator*education:* high school diploma or equivalent; an associate or *b*achelor’s degree in civil, industrial, electrical, mechanical, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other related engineering and scientific fields, based on a four-year course of study, is highly desired.*experience:* at least five (5) years of experience in liquid fuels and fuel terminal operations.
