*responsibilities*:
verato is seeking to hire a data analyst for its software-as-a-service business. The data analyst will be a key member of our technology team, specifically focusing on evaluating partner-supplied data for suitability in verato’s reference datasets. He/she will work closely with other agile engineering teams in verato’s development organization.
The data analyst will be expected to do the following:
- conduct exploratory data analysis on supplied datasets and evaluate data quality for completeness, accuracy, and potential bias
- identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline data profiling, cleansing and preparation
- work in small, agile teams to help define the best methods to assemble and verify the correctness and completeness of the reference database(s)
- work side by side with the development team to improve and extend the features used by our classification algorithms
*requirements
to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the following are required:
- 3+ years of related work experience
- ability to quantify, summarize and clearly communicate analytical results
- professional statistics experience
- extensive programming experience with working knowledge of python/pandas for data analysis
- experience querying either sql databases or nosql databases like mongodb/documentdb
- experience working with aws and the aws portfolio of data technologies
- strong oral and written communication skills; fluency in both spoken and written english
- adaptable, with drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- ability to work from verato’s merida office
preferred qualifications:
- experience in a pci/hipaa/hitrust/soc2 -type 2 compliant environment or similar environment with phi/pii
- experience working with linux and command line scripting (e.g. bash, zsh)
- bachelor’s degree in statistics or another technical field
