position purpose
the role will support the global procurement leadership in finding, contracting, and developing projects with timber investment management organizations (timo’s), timberland real-estate investment trusts (reits) and plantation management companies for the competitive supply of timber into sawmills.
the role will be supporting the project management of a forestry and industrial project in tabasco mexico
qualifications
essential qualifications
* bachelor's or master’s degree in forestry
* natural resource management
* environmental science
* forest engineering
* forest economics
english 80%
**mandatory experience with timo discussions with suppliers, negotiate price & payment terms and drive costs down monthly with each supplier not on a flex agreement get white wood quotes or similar plantation management company .
advanced understanding of timberland investment, finance, and management processes
experience working with institutional investors, understanding the economics of plantation management.

* work experience in international matrix organizations across functions and cultures.
* ability to evaluate various potential procurement activities and prioritize initiatives to gain maximum benefit within the region of responsibility.

key accountabilities – what you will do
* delivers timber-related projects identified by the global office on time
* help develop new sources of supply globally
* identify opportunities to partner with timo’s, reit’s and plantation management companies
* map the landscape of timo’s, reits and plantation management companies
* assess and recommend the selected suppliers for timber covering multiple regions in the americas (usa, canada, central and south america)
* support the execution of contracts or sla with the chosen partners
* forestry and sawmilling project management
* understanding of forest management and finances
* communication skills both to manage a team effectively and to promote their work within the organization.
