job description
* full p&l ownership for the chemical business unit in mexico
* leadership (directly and indirectly) of commercial, operational, and support teams across multiple sites
* strategic planning and execution to meet revenue, margin, and growth targets
* oversight of customer relationships, supplier partnerships, and regulatory compliance
* accountability for ensuring compliance with mexican labor laws, environmental standards, tax regulations, trade controls, and chemical handling legislation
* reporting into regional or global leadership with influence on broader business strategy
* develop and execute the business unit strategy aligned with corporate and regional goals
* lead and inspire a high-performing team across sales, operations, supply chain, and support functions
* drive commercial performance through customer engagement, pricing strategy, and market development
* ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and safety across all facilities and processes
* monitor and manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
* build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
* ensure full compliance with mexican governance frameworks, including labor law, environmental protection (e.g., semarnat), occupational health and safety (e.g., nom standards), tax and customs regulations (e.g., sat), and chemical industry-specific legislation
* champion continuous improvement, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives
* represent the business unit in executive forums and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives
* achieve revenue, ebitda, margin, and cash generation targets
* maintain safety performance
* compliance with all regulatory and governance requirements (zero violations or incidents)
* customer satisfaction and retention metrics
* operational kpis (e.g., on-time delivery, quality, safety performance)
* employee engagement and retention
* market share growth and new business development
* execution of strategic initiatives and transformation projects
the successful applicant
* bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, or related field (mba preferred)
* 10+ years of progressive leadership
* experience and relationships in a combination of the chemical industry, alongside existing relationships with major manufacturers, spanning automotive, industrial and aerospace industries
* proven track record of p&l ownership and delivering financial results
* experience managing multi-site operations and cross-functional teams
* strong understanding of mexican legal and regulatory frameworks, including labor, environmental, and chemical compliance
* bilingual (spanish and english) is essential
* strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
