about the job:nouryon is looking for a regional process safety engineer (psm) to help strengthen how we apply process safety management in our role is very connected to the site and to day-to-day operations.you'll work closely with plant teams to improve safety culture, operating discipline, and the practical use of psm processes in real nouryon, psm is built around key elements like competency, training, moc, hazard studies, pssr, audits, and emergency response.in this role, you'll help make sure these are not just procedures on paper, but practices that truly work in the field.in your future role as regional psm engineer, you will:support strong and consistent execution of nouryon's psm practices at site levelwork hands-on with operations to reduce risk and prevent process safety incidentsyou'll be involved in core psm activities such as:hazard studiessupport studies using nouryon's risk matrix and procedureswork together with site teams and engineers to complete them properlymanagement of change (moc)support the site in applying moc as part of daily operationspre-start-up safety reviews (pssr)support pssr for new or modified equipment and processeshelp ensure hse requirements are covered before startupconfirm training is completed for people operating new or changed processessupport awareness for employees and contractors involvedaction tracking and follow-uphelp ensure psm and pssr actions are completed before startuptrack follow-up actions in enablon with clear owners and timelinespsm audits and assessmentssupport site psm self-assessmentshelp evaluate how effective psm elements are in practicesupport preparation for corporate compliance auditstrack audit actions through closurepartnership with leaders and teamswork closely with site leadership and regional teamsprovide practical process safety guidance that works in real operationshelp integrate psm into daily routines and existing systemscompetency and training disciplinesupport role-based competency expectationsassist with training gap assessments and training planssupport onboarding for people in qhse&s critical roleswe believe you bring:languagefluent spanish and english (fully bilingual)able to communicate clearly and professionally with regional and global teamseducation / technical backgroundtechnical degree required.strong preference for chemical engineeringother technical degrees considered with relevant process safety experiencepsm experienceexperience applying psm systems in operating or manufacturing environmentsability to identify, understand, and manage process hazardsfamiliarity with key psm elements such as:hazard studiesmocpssrtraining & competencypsm auditstraining & competency mindsetexperience supporting competency models and training plansability to help assess training gaps and validate training effectivenessways of workinghands-on, proactive, and self-drivencomfortable working in situations that are not always perfectly structuredable to spot gaps and push solutions through to completionstrong follow-up and action-tracking mindsetgood to know:this is a permanent, full-time, fully on-site role 5 days/week at our plant in los reyes (la paz).
