Injection molding technician
location: united states (must be available to work and reside abroad).
position summary: the injection molding process engineer will ensure that injection molding machines operate at the highest quality standards while meeting production goals. This role involves setting up and starting molds, managing process standards, supporting new tool launches, and training technicians. The engineer will play a key role in maintaining efficiency, safety, and product quality across operations
key responsibilities:
* set up and start injection molds and auxiliary equipment.
* perform color changes and production order adjustments.
* inspect in-process and finished parts for quality defects and implement corrective actions.
* monitor cycle time efficiency and cavitation percentage.
* troubleshoot and recommend tool repairs.
* handle material management, including resin dispensing, weighing, and consolidation.
* create and evaluate process parameter sheets.
* develop sops for mold changes, startups, and troubleshooting (imm/robots/pickers).
* train and audit molding technicians/operators on sop compliance.
* support the launch of new tools and processes.
requirements:
* bachelor’s degree in engineering (plastics or mechanical preferred).
* minimum of 5 years of experience as an injection molding process technician.
* strong troubleshooting skills with injection molding machines and support equipment.
* proven ability to set up and start injection molding machines.
* certification in mold technology development programs is a plus.
* excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
* basic computer skills (word, excel).
* solid math and reading comprehension skills.
* experience with arburg and krauss maffei machines is an advantage
