our client is a solid medical device leader with a global footprint and manufacturing sites around the world. We have been retained to find a global facilities manager to lead global facilities across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with industry regulations while driving opex standards.
the position
the global facilities and maintenance manager will be responsible for
strategic leadership:
* develop and implement global facilities strategies aligned with organizational goals and gmp driving opex, safety and sustainability.
* drive standardization of facilities processes, policies, and performance metrics across all sites.
* develop utility and production equipment maintenance strategy across the maintenance hierarchy.
* oversee the implementation of the strategy in collaboration with the site maintenance leadership.
facilities operations
* ensure that site expansions, renovations, and new builds align to the policies and standards.
* develop plans to optimize utility consumption delivering cost reductions year over year.
* ensure optimal space utilization and infrastructure planning.
* strategic planning for tool room operations across the manufacturing network
maintenance operations
* lead deployment of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs for critical production equipment and infrastructure to ensure standardization across sites.
* ensure cmms systems are effectively deployed consistently and maintained.
* ensure that maintenance opportunities on current installed assets are built into design requirements for future equipment.
compliance & regulatory
* ensure facilities and maintenance practices meet fda, iso 13485, eu mdr, and local regulatory requirements.
* support internal and external audits and inspections.
* maintain validated environments (e.g., cleanrooms, hvac systems, water systems).
* project & financial management
* prepare and manage global facilities and maintenance budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and value delivery.
* oversee vendor contracts and service level agreements.?
environmental health & safety (ehs)
* ensure compliance with global ehs standards.
* promote a culture of safety and implement emergency response plans.
* sustainability & innovation
* drive energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
* implement smart building and predictive maintenance technologies.
team leadership:
* lead and develop regional facilities teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
* provide guidance and support for local facilities managers and service providers.
the candidate
will have 10+ years in facilities and maintenance management, with 5+ years in a regulated industry (medical device, pharma, biotech).
proven experience managing global, multi-site operations and capital projects.
key skills & competencies:
* strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
* deep understanding of gmp, fda, iso 13485.
* proficiency in cmms and facility management platforms.
* excellent communication and stakeholder management.
* project management and budgeting expertise.
* technical knowledge of building systems and manufacturing equipment.
* bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field.
* advanced degree (mba, msc) preferred.
certifications:
* cfm, fmp, or equivalent.
* gmp and iso 13485 training/certification preferred.
