*overview*:
the role would be responsible for leading, developing, planning and executing short to long-term sales strategies and achieving all objectives including net sales, trade and delivered margin for all brands under general mills in puerto rico market
size of the business * mmd and growth targets for f27 horizon
*main responsibilities / decision making & managing the business responsibilities*
- develop, plan and execute the overall distributor strategy in the region
- meet/exceed key financial objectives including net sales, trade, and delivered margin for assigned markets
- drive the business as strategic, operational and transactional in puerto rico within lacdm organization
- create, operate and build the business relation with our distributors, align both commercial plans to identify needs, opps and match commercial objectives.
- manage critical conversations with key customers in order to meet our commercial guidelines and plans
- align, define and connect business commercial plans with new product development or innovations for those markets
- effectively align and lead with our distributor partners in ensuring we have aligned vision and goals, monitoring our performance vs targets (jbps) and putting in place action plans to maximize results.
- conduct regular business reviews with key costumers
- deploy correct strategy for the market and brands to growth the business
- evaluates in store plans ongoing throughout the year, flexing activities as required to reflect any changes in customer/brand environment, and to improve effectiveness and efficiency (roi)
- monitor the operation of distributors to ensure that work processes are implemented and has the knowledge & ability to recommend developments
- align distributors on new plans and follow up on implementation
- provide timely and accurate forecasts for the markets
- set up and review regularly the trading terms and conditions with distributors.
establish the operation guideline and working procedures with distributors in order to run our business smoothly and achieve the highest business result
- maximize trade spending efficiencies and effectiveness to deliver volume and profit expectations
- provide necessary training to the staff in distributors to enhance their capabilities to maximize our sales and coverage in the markets
- facilitate the best practice sharing among the distributors which can help our sales and profitability
- explore other business opportunity in markets (geographically and product-wise)
- provide input to marketing to define winning in the accounts (trade, launch windows, competitive)
*education, experience +skills needed*
- bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or similar preferred experience
- experience in puerto rico market
- minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commercial, marketing or finance role ideal in cpg ¨s industry
- minimun 10 years managing business / regions with critical experiences developing markets, brands.
- minimun 5 years experience managing strategic negotiation with distributors
- successful demonstration of analytical skills using various data sources, interpretation and translate into business strategies
- must be proficient in microsoft office suite (especially microsoft excel and powerpoint)
- key leadership characteristics: integrity, operate with a growth mindset, collaborative, strong communicator & learning agility.
- strong distributor management experience in fmcg industry.
multi-distributors management experience is a must
- previous exposure in various latam markets is an advantage
- fluent in both verbal and written english is a must
