Job descriptiongeneral description:the sr maintenance specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of plant maintenance activities through the effective supervision, coordination, and performance management of external maintenance suppliers and contractors. This role acts as the technical and operational authority for outsourced maintenance services, ensuring compliance with company standards, safety regulations, contractual agreements, and operational kpis.responsibilitiessupplier & contractor managementsupervise and coordinate all external maintenance suppliers and contractors, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and to required quality standards.act as the primary point of contact for maintenance vendors, including mechanical, electrical, utilities, hvac, and specialized service providers.validate supplier scope of work, schedules, manpower allocation, and technical execution.ensure compliance with contractual terms, slas, kpis, and budget controls.evaluate supplier performance and lead corrective actions for quality, safety, or delivery issues.maintenance execution & oversightoversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities performed by suppliers.review and approve maintenance work orders, reports, and technical documentation.ensure maintenance activities minimize downtime and support production continuity.coordinate supplier activities with internal maintenance teams and production leadership.safety, quality & complianceenforce safety standards, loto procedures, permits, and risk assessments for all external maintenance work.ensure compliance with osha, local regulations, and company ehs policies.conduct audits and inspections of supplier work quality and safety practices.support root cause analysis (rca) for equipment failures involving supplier work.planning & cost controlsupport maintenance planning and scheduling in coordination with production requirements.monitor maintenance costs related to outsourced services and identify cost-reduction opportunities.support contract negotiations, renewals, and supplier selection with technical input.continuous improvement & leadershipdrive continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance reliability, supplier performance, and asset uptime.identify opportunities to standardize maintenance practices across suppliers.mentor junior maintenance personnel on supplier coordination and technical standards.experience:3 or more years of experience, with knowledge of maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.3 years of experience in a role involving suppliers, budgeting, service contracts, or related areas.analytical ability to interpret data and efficiency metrics.knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance systems.ability to solve problems and make effective decisions.skills:leadershipeffective communicationdelivering resultsanalysis and organizationproject developmentknowledge of mechanics, industrial and control electrical systems, plcs, pneumatics and hydraulics, general masonry, plumbing, and weldingability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other diagramsknowledge of equipment such as band sealing machines, form-and-seal machines, conveyors, ultrasonic equipment, air compressors, hvac systems (chillers, etc.), water pumps, forklifts, air curtains, and cleanrooms, among others.foundational knowledge of six sigma (green belt tools), lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5s methodology.education:bachelor degree: industrial, mechanical mechatronics electronics (or related field) — maintenance-related industrialmedline industries, lp is an equal opportunity employer.
