general summary
owns a portfolio of it sourcing initiatives, delivering measurable value across qualcomm’s it spend. Develops and executes category and negotiation strategies in partnership with it, finance, legal, and business stakeholders—balancing technology, risk, timeline and total cost. Leads the end-to-end source-to-contract process (rfx through award and contract execution) and drives timely supply acquisition, strong commercial terms and documented savings. Individual contributor role.
Responsibilities
partner with it, finance, legal and business leaders to align sourcing outcomes to priorities and roadmaps.
Build and execute it sourcing strategies to maximize value, manage risk and support business unit objectives.
Lead rfx events end-to-end: scope, build tenders, evaluate proposals, negotiate commercials and present award recommendations.
Use spend analytics, benchmarks, and cost models to deliver decision-ready options with clear trade-offs.
Negotiate and contract in line with corporate standards to mitigate risk and protect value.
Drive cross-functional execution and negotiations; anticipate impacts from changing requirements, cost targets, timelines and volumes.
Make sound decisions on complex, cross-functional issues; communicate risks, recommendations and next steps.
Manage a portfolio of sourcing projects and deadlines; improve processes and drive best-practice adoption across the source-to-contract lifecycle.
Minimum qualifications
bachelor's degree and 6+ years of sourcing or related work experience.
Associate's degree and 8+ years of sourcing or related work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of sourcing or related work experience.
Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (master’s = one year, doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred qualifications
3+ years of experience in a large matrixed organization; 2+ years of experience interacting with senior leadership (director level and above). Degree in business administration, supply chain, it or a related field.
Proven it category experience, including sourcing of software, hardware and services.
Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, project management and conflict-resolution skills.
High eq and strong stakeholder/customer orientation; comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
Strong analytical capability (spend analytics, cost modeling, what-if analysis) and proficiency with sourcing tools and platforms.
Strategic and creative thinker who can structure complex problems and drive practical solutions.
Working knowledge of it supplier markets, subcategories, leading vendors and key industry trends.
Track record of delivering year-over-year, multi-million-dollar savings and measurable value outcomes.
