*job summary*
responsible for the development and improvement of quality processes, testing procedures, and implement correctly the quality management system to ensure that processes comply with regulations, standards and meet clients' expectations.
*product quality engineer (pqe) duties and responsabilities*:
- responsible to monitor the product and process quality. First contact on customers to resolve problems.
- analyze and provide a quick and effective solutions to quality problems, reported by client.
- inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- ensuring workflows, processes, and products perform the standards and regulations.
- review new projects and releases of part numbers, processes, services for the definition of operation requirements and their implementation.
- monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
- developing and implementing quality control systems.
- investigate and troubleshooting product or production issues.
- identify, investigate and manage risk opportunities utilizing advance quality tools (lean, six sigma, pfmea, pdca, control plan, etc).
- responsible on corrective actions, implementation to maintain on goal quality metrics stablished (return rate, scrap, rework). Developing solutions and improvements.
- manage suppliers that support to comply in time with the customers.
*job requirements and experience*:
- degree in materials engineering, metallurgical engineering, chemical metallurgical and materials engineer or equivalent
- *fluency in english*:
- *+ 30 years old*:
- *previous experience in a similar position/industry (at least 2-3 years of experience)*:
- *great expertise and knowledge of steel metallurgy processes;*quality defects and their causes, properties of steel; such as tensile strength, elongation, r & n value
- desired experience in welding and steel heat treatment processes
- extensive experience in a quality assurance environment required
- proficiency in problem solving & quality techniques including spc, pfmea-control plan, ppap, 8d problem solving, apqp, msa, capability analysis, and problem solving
- strong knowledge of astm/iatf 16949/iso900 standars
- knowledge of automotive standards and supplier quality manuals
- management skills, negotiation, problem solving
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- able to work efficiently in a team environment
