as a digital technology specialist - security operations engineering you will be responsible for implementing ot security controls, leading incident response activities, validating configurations, monitoring risks, and strengthening the overall security posture of industrial systems. Your hands‐on experience will be essential to ensuring that critical ot assets operate safely, reliably, and in alignment with industry standards.
responsibilities
* security implementation: implementing and managing ot security controls, measures, and technologies to protect critical assets and systems.
* incident response sme: serving as a subject matter expert in ot incident response, including detection, investigation, and mitigation of security incidents.
* vulnerability management: overseeing vulnerability assessment and remediation processes for ot systems.
* security monitoring: continuously monitoring ot networks and systems for signs of compromise and responding to threats using practical, hands‐on expertise.
* security awareness: promoting a culture of security awareness among ot personnel and stakeholders through education and training.
* compliance: ensuring compliance with relevant ot security standards and regulations.
* documentation: maintaining detailed documentation of security configurations, incident reports, response plans, and developing playbooks and automations for common ot security use cases.
* collaboration: working closely with cross‐functional teams—including network engineers, system administrators, and external cybersecurity teams—to align security efforts with organizational objectives.
* security tool management: managing and optimizing security tools and technologies used within the ot security program.
* continuous improvement: driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ot security and incident response capabilities based on emerging threats and industry developments.
required qualifications
* have hands‐on experience in ot security engineering, incident response, security operations, or a related field.
* possess a strong understanding of industrial control systems (ics) and scada systems.
* have proven experience with ot and it security technologies such as firewalls, ids, vulnerability detection, network discovery, log collection systems, and siem solutions.
* demonstrate knowledge of ot security principles and best practices.
* be familiar with the mitre att&ck framework and adversary ttps within the ot/ics domain.
* have effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
* bring strong problem‐solving abilities developed through real‐world experience.
desired qualifications
* relevant certifications such as cissp, gicsp, gcih, grid, or certified incident handler.
* previous experience in the oil and gas, energy, or manufacturing sectors.
* familiarity with ot‐specific industry standards and regulations.
* in-depth knowledge of threat detection and incident response processes in ot environments.
* experience with threat intelligence and its application in ot security.
* project management skills gained through hands‐on work.
* ability to adapt to evolving ot technologies and security landscapes.
* a passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends.
