Position overview we are seeking a powerbuilder subject matter expert (sme) to lead the modernization, maintenance, and enhancement of legacy applications built on the powerbuilder platform. This role requires a seasoned developer with deep expertise in powerbuilder, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration with modern technologies. Key responsibilities lead the analysis, design, development, and support of powerbuilder‑based applications. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements into technical solutions. Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization of existing powerbuilder applications. Define and guide migration strategies from powerbuilder to modern platforms (e.g., .net, java). Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and user manuals. Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices in powerbuilder development. Ensure compliance with security, data integrity, and development standards across all deliverables. Qualifications proven hands‑on experience as a powerbuilder developer (version 10.x or later preferred). Strong understanding of sql and relational databases such as oracle, sql server, or sybase.
