Software Engineer Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished software engineer to collaborate on the development of our high-performance veterinary management platform. The ideal candidate is passionate about building user-friendly applications and has a strong track record in both front-end and back-end development.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new features, optimize performance, and ensure seamless functionality across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Backend Expertise: Python 3.9+, FastAPI (2+ years), Async/await, GraphQL with Strawberry or similar, PostgreSQL + SQL optimization, Peewee ORM (or SQLAlchemy), REST API design, WebSockets, OAuth 2.0 & JWT, Docker deployment
- Frontend Expertise: JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), React or similar (3+ years), GraphQL clients (Apollo, Relay), Redux/Vuex/Zustand for state management, CSS/SCSS, responsive design, Webpack/Vite, Testing (Jest, Cypress, Playwright)
- General: 5+ years in full stack development; 3+ years in Python backend development; 3+ years with modern frontend frameworks; 2+ years with GraphQL APIs; SaaS / multi-tenant platform experience; Agile/Scrum methodology exposure; Production deployment and maintenance

- Troubleshoot and debug software
- Explain and simplify technical concepts to other team members across the organization
- Write clear, reliable, and maintainable code using best in class engineering practices
- Take a loosely defined problem and deliver a working solution
- Build consensus and drive decisions to promote leading edge technologies
- Take initiative to identify problem areas and places of improvement
- Guide and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related industry experience); 5+ years of software experience; HTML/CSS/JavaScript; Experience with Angular, React, or Vue; Experience with one or more backend stacks (Golang, Java, Python, etc.); Comfortable with fast iteration cycles; Collaborative, easy to work with, and strong communication skills.
