Job descriptionthe account manager is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts to drive revenue growth, protect profitability, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure effective commercial execution.
this role serves as the primary business interface between the company and the customer, leading account strategy, pricing, collections, contract alignment, and customer engagement.the account manager is expected to balance customer satisfaction with financial performance by managing growth opportunities, supporting new business development within existing accounts, overseeing collection performance, leading repricing efforts, and ensuring customer agreements and communication processes are effectively maintained.from a leadership standpoint, the account manager maintains strong customer communication and relationship management, ensures effective customer data communication management, and conducts customer visits to strengthen engagement, review business performance, and support long-term partnership development.overall, the account manager plays a critical role in balancing customer satisfaction, revenue growth, operational execution, and commercial accountability for assigned accounts.required qualificationseducationbachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, or a related field preferred.experience3–7 years of experience in account management, sales, customer management, or commercial operations.experience managing customer relationships in a b2b environment preferred.experience with pricing, collections, contracts, and account profitability management is highly preferred.knowledge, skills, and abilitiesstrong customer relationship management and communication skills.solid commercial and financial acumen, including revenue, margin, and p&l understanding.experience in quote generation, pricing, and business repricing.ability to manage ar, e&o, tariff, and other collection-related matters.strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.ability to lead customer business reviews and support voice of customer initiatives.strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.proficiency in crm systems, excel, and business reporting tools.ability to travel for customer visits as required.key duties and responsibilities1.
account growth and business developmentdrive growth within assigned customer accounts by identifying expansion opportunities and supporting new business development.generate quotes for new business opportunities with current customers.partner with internal teams to support account strategy, business development, and revenue expansion.2.
financial and commercial performancemanage account financial performance, including revenue and ppv within the account p&l.lead business repricing activities to support margin improvement and profitability.monitor commercial conditions and customer-specific financial risks impacting account performance.3.
collections managementsupport and drive timely accounts receivable (ar) collection.manage e&o collection activities in coordination with internal stakeholders.oversee tariff collection processes where applicable.escalate collection issues and help resolve disputes that may affect cash flow or customer relationships.4.
customer relationship managementserve as the primary point of contact for customer communication and relationship management.build strong, professional relationships with key customer contacts.conduct regular customer visits to review performance, address concerns, and strengthen strategic alignment.lead structured business reviews to assess account health and identify improvement opportunities.5.
voice of customer and service improvementmanage the voice of customer process through regular business reviews and feedback collection.communicate customer concerns, priorities, and service expectations to internal teams.support action planning and follow-up activities to improve customer satisfaction and retention.6.
contracts and agreementscoordinate and manage customer agreements, including msa and other agreements such as ss, vmi, and related commercial arrangements.ensure agreements are aligned with company policies, customer requirements, and business objectives.support contract review, renewal, and implementation activities as needed.7.
customer data and communication managementensure accurate and timely management of customer-related data and communication.maintain effective communication flow between the customer and internal teams.support alignment of account information, commercial updates, and operational expectations across stakeholders.
