This role involves establishing safety protocols, coordinating training, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.key responsibilities:advise departments on occupational health and safety compliance with official mexican standards (nom).evaluate companies and contractors' compliance with safety policies established for construction sites.manage and report osh indicators of works, adopting corrective actions as necessary.supervise accident investigations and evaluate prevention measures following nom-019-stps and corporate standards.coordinate trainings and awareness campaigns on occupational health and safety.operate in accordance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in accordance with nom-001-semarnat.mobilize osh teams for new works and ensure regular follow-up in accordance with organizational contractor manual.monitor implementation of health and safety procedures and routines, ensuring compliance.participate in development of institutional health and safety policies in collaboration with sgi management.carry out internal and external audits, proposing corrective actions for non-conformities.requirements:bachelor's degree in occupational safety engineering, environmental science, chemistry, or related field.5+ years of experience in ehs project management in the construction industry (greenfield), with additional experience in the chemical industry preferred.knowledge of osha standards for construction.in-depth knowledge of nom regulations related to health, safety, and environmental practices.experience in establishing ehs standards in new or startup plant environments.advanced english language skills.additional information:this role is critical for building a safe operational foundation, managing osh indicators, and implementing best practices for workplace safety and environmental sustainability in the new facilities.
