*position overview*:
the production deputy manager will assist the plant production manager/director in overseeing daily manufacturing operations of electromechanical systems for the automotive industry.
this role is responsible for ensuring that production goals are met with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost (sqdc), while promoting continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and team development in a fast-paced tier 1 environment.
*responsibilities*:
- support the production manager in coordinating and controlling the manufacturing of electromechanical systems (e.g., sunroof modules and other mechatronic assemblies) to meet customer requirements and internal targets.
- supervise and coach production teams to ensure daily output aligns with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards.
- oversee the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components in the production process, ensuring high standards of functional testing and traceability.
- monitor production kpis and drive improvements through data analysis, root cause problem solving, and lean methodologies (5s, kaizen, smed, vsm).
- collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth production flow.
- support the implementation of new production lines or process changes for electromechanical systems, including equipment validation and operator training.
- ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (iatf *), ehs regulations, and internal policies.
- participate in internal/external audits and support the closure of corrective actions.
*requirements*:
- bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- ten or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with a strong background in electromechanical or mechatronic systems.
- minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership position within a production environment.
- solid understanding of six sigma, lean manufacturing, jit, and quality systems.
- familiarity with iatf *, iso *, and iso * standards.
- experience with electromechanical testing, traceability systems, and failure analysis.
- proficient in microsoft office, erp systems (epicor, sap ), and production planning tools.
- *proficiency in spanish and english languages (written and verbal)
