we are looking for a strong operations leader who can manage the daily performance of our trainers, drive personal training sales, and actively protect member retention through consistent follow-up and engagement.
this is a hands-on, performance-driven role focused on execution and results.
you will lead the team operationally, ensure systems are followed, and maintain a high standard of service across the fitness department.
you will work closely with the fitness professional manager, who leads training methodology and coaching standards, while you lead operational performance, team accountability, and member engagement.
the role
the operations & personal training sales manager is responsible for ensuring the fitness department runs efficiently every day and that personal training revenue and member retention remain strong.
you will lead the team operationally, monitor performance, and ensure members remain engaged and supported throughout their journey.
this role requires leadership, organization, and the ability to hold people accountable while maintaining a professional and positive environment.
key responsibilities
* manage daily operations of the fitness floor and trainer schedules
* ensure proper staff coverage across all shifts
* lead and supervise the personal training team from an operational and performance standpoint
* drive personal training sales and revenue growth
* track daily activity, productivity, and performance of trainers
* hold trainers accountable for attendance, professionalism, and follow-up
* ensure new members are scheduled promptly for their initial sessions
* support onboarding and integration of new members
* resolve operational issues quickly and professionally
* maintain high service standards across the fitness department
* drive consistent growth in personal training revenue
* ensure all personal training opportunities are followed up quickly
* monitor conversion rates from assessments and consultations into personal training
* set clear activity and sales expectations for trainers
* coach trainers on communication, service, and follow-up behaviors
* track daily and weekly sales performance
* identify opportunities to increase member engagement with personal training
retention & member engagement responsibilities
* track daily member usage across all services
* identify members who are not actively using their membership
* contact inactive or low-usage members quickly to re-engage them
* ensure members attend scheduled sessions consistently
* monitor cancellations, freezes, and payment issues and intervene early
* work with trainers to maintain consistent communication with members
* report weekly retention and usage trends
* take ownership of member engagement and retention performance

requirements
* minimum 2–3 years experience managing trainers or fitness staff
* experience working in a gym, wellness center, or service environment
* experience driving sales performance or managing revenue targets
* strong leadership and organizational skills
* ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems quickly
* professional attitude and strong work ethic
* bilingual (english and spanish) preferred
