A world leader in mission critical sensors and controls designed to make the world cleaner, safer and more efficient is seeking a financial analyst or similar (depends on experience) for its operations in mexico based out of tijuana. The position reports to the finance director of operations for sensing solutions.
general responsibilities
- perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
- performs variance analysis between actual, prior and standard costs
- analyze financial data and create cost and financial models for decision support
- report on financial and cost performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
- analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
- provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
- recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
- identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, and tools
- recommend changes in operating procedures to improve efficiencies in payment and procurement processes
- examine data to help with reducing cost in all operations
- analyze the market and identify opportunities for growth and potential risks
experience / qualifications
- a university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- proficient in microsoft office programs (outlook, word, powerpoint, and excel)
- strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- provide the operations leaders with actionable insights and analysis to define, measure and deliver world-class performance and productivity
- lead/support the annual standard cost update process ensuring timely & accurate cost rolls while harmonizing local conventions to sensata global frameworks
- support preparation of all presentation materials for the annual operating plan and all forecasting work-streams
- partner with gm's for related planning of resources and expenses, model the optimal cost-benefit scenarios. Develop operating mechanisms to drive performance to established targets.
- ensure inventory accuracy and transactional controllership for all material movements across the sites
